As one half of Portland, Oregon's harsh noise mainstay <a href="spotify:artist:3xkUURinuBCZfUWpjzWkMa">Yellow Swans</a>, Pete Swanson provided sludgy pulsing beats and staticky tape manipulation to counter his partner Gabriel Saloman's feedback-laden guitar onslaught. <a href="spotify:artist:3xkUURinuBCZfUWpjzWkMa">Yellow Swans</a> operated in a violent landscape of slowed-down screaming dissonance from 2001 until they parted ways in 2008. During those seven years, the band performed, recorded, and released music ceaselessly, with Swanson contributing to dozens of <a href="spotify:artist:3xkUURinuBCZfUWpjzWkMa">Yellow Swans</a> releases, as well as a few limited CD-R releases under his own name or under monikers like P Swans or <a href="spotify:artist:1fEDf2uzrvMRpkUifuP2p2">Badgerlore</a>. Following the group's dissolution, Swanson relocated to New York City to continue his education, and at the same time began to focus on solo material and performances.
