Peter $un commits all of his emotions, thoughts, and truths to tape. The Richmond-born and Los Angeles-based rapper, vocalist, and producer confronts his trauma, discloses his ambitions, and embraces his potential over a soundtrack of future-facing hip-hop laced with eloquent jazz-style instrumentation, filled to the brim with undeniable soul.

While on the come-up in his hometown, Sunny hustled his music on the underground scene, eventually gaining traction with the 2016 mixtape, Paradise Is A Day Away. Joined by producer and longtime collaborator Blue Rondo, he later unveiled Don’t Forget To Smile in 2018. The project boasted “Love Drunk Lust (Make It Hard)” [feat. Trip Carter & KnottRudy], raking in 7 million Spotify streams and counting. 2021 saw him release Scumbaby, inciting widespread tastemaker applause. OkayPlayer hailed it as “an introspective exploration of rap fused with jazz and soul,” and KAZI crowned him “a creative music force.”

After earning tens of millions of streams and mainstream acclaim, he got vulnerable on his 2022 EP, Phone Calls Gimme Anxiety. The project showed a different side of Sunny unpacking his grief from real life experiences. Flipping the script in 2023, he delivered the upbeat EP, 3PIECE alongside his mini-documentary $unny Daze, from Red Bull Media House and Ghetto Film School. Sunny continues to keep the vibes high with his most recent, laid-back single “All That I Want” featuring Rexx Life Raj.
