Ph7 are a genre-neutral band from York, UK. Emily, Ryan, Bel, Jane and Aaron all met at the University of York in 2021, whereby the band formed after a series of late-night, sleep-deprived, garage jams. Over the course of 3 years, Ph7 have explored elements of alternative, indie and surfrock genres (to name just a few), with all the starkly different musical influences of each band member perfectly blended into what is the original Ph7 sound.
Their debut EP “No Lifeguard on Duty” explores themes of being young, tired, hopeful, angry, mad, euphoric and downright zen, encompassing the feelings that accompany the trials and tribulations of emergence into young adulthood. With its range of musical genres and goofy themes, “No Lifeguard on Duty” packs the same punch as cold fridge water at 3am to the dehydrated insomniac. Recorded as a live session for that raw ‘I am at a Ph7 gig’ feeling.
