Hailed as one of New Brunswick's premier lyricists, Phakt (pronounced FACT) started in the freestyle battle circuit, winning numerous tournaments & competitions before joining the Change The Game Records roster late in 2003.

Phakt made a splash on the scene by following his three consecutive wins at Halifax's DJO's (DJ Olympics) with victories at the How The East Was Won (hosted by 106 & Park's freestyle champ Jin) & Freestyle Fightklub. 2011 would mark a brief return to the freestyle format where Phakt would compete in the (Aux TV) televised freestyle battle documentary/competition "The Ultimate MC".

2011 would also see the birth of a joint venture (Arts & Crafts) with his cousin & longtime partner in rhyme, Mister Monark, with the assistance of producer/MC Sean One.

The long awaited solo effort came March of 2016. "Dropping Inwards" was nominated for 2017 ECMA Hip-Hop album of the year & Music NB best Hip-Hop album.
