Phạm Thế Vũ played his role as a guitarist for Rắn Cạp Đuôi Collective and has been part of the group since 2013 when he moved from Hanoi to Saigon. After meeting founding member Đỗ Tấn Sĩ over facebook, the pair collaborated online for about a year before meeting in person. Since then, Vũ, has worked on several of the interrelated Collective projects including the released singles in Soundcloud of the group. He is a self-taught guitarist but has also contributed to the Collective with various different instruments such as violin, goong, đàn nguyệt, flute,.... He’s also a poet and called himself Lam Lủ. His poetry is known for blending into a surrealist world of paranoia, consisting of words and sounds suffocated. On the guitar his major works influences are sounds and techniques from various different guitar and non-guitar-musics in Western classical and modern music, rock, free-jazz, “stream of consciousness”, psychedelic,... other than that he founded connected to Southen-Vietnamese tài tử music spirit. Vũ is particularly noted for his unique style of ambient audio manipulation and wall of sound techniques which he engineers during performances and recordings to create a vast, rippling, and dynamic soundscape in minimalism. His full length debut most recently was on the “Đẹp Trai Chết Hết” LP. Most recently he has started collaborating with another Rắn Cạp Đuôi member Lý Hà Trang on a experimental-pop project called OAUỚ.
