Phantom Eye is the ever-evolving music project of Jesse Norris (<a href="spotify:artist:7eecptDspdymUCZU8xgN8N" data-name="Lighthouse">Lighthouse</a>, Tiger Helicide, Angry Letters, formerly of <a href="spotify:artist:4NhJgwshqOsxrWAAYdH4Ac" data-name="TOWU">TOWU</a>). Ranging from melodic post-punk to film soundtracks to soft acoustic tunes, the project encompasses all that the musical journey can possibly entail. Sometimes synth, sometimes acoustic, sometimes ambience.
Phantom Eye was born in late 2023 after TOWU announced its final string of shows. Initially intended to be a more palatable project, a handful of more pop-adjacent tunes were written and recorded for the ‘2023’ EP, released in April 2024. Soon after, the project detoured with the ambient acoustic ‘20,000 Birds’ in June of the same year.
Phantom Eye returned to a more evolved version of the synth-wave and post-punk sounds of the first release with the debut full length ‘For Want Of’ in May 2025. That same month the score/soundtrack for Nick Adrian’s debut feature film, ‘Moon Beams’, was released. It was co-written with <a href="spotify:artist:5dOBhislbiVw1vtxAyOzrA" data-name="REDWZRD">REDWZRD</a>.
The newest release, the ‘l’epreuve de la vie’ EP, is an experiment mixing 80-90 year old music with the familiar sounds of Phantom Eye.
