The next generation of Uk x Germany based dancehall/Afro-soul artists is here and Phasiyaa showcases her innovative, wavy and sensual style. Her mesmerizing lyrics and the fairy-like sweetness of Phasiyaa's vocals with a romantic melody on tight drums provides a dreamlike parallel dimension, potentially the Leftfield Dancehall bubble's late summer jam.
Born and raised in Germany but having her roots from Ghana, she always had the pleasure to experience both cultures but also struggled to identify herself as she had never visited Ghana till recently.
Starting from college and being one of four black people on the entire school but also being surrounded by the "black community" outside college, influenced her teenage years.
She used to listen to various music genres (from dancehall, indie rock, pop, house to hip hop rap, rnb)
Or afro, reggae, highlife, old school funk and gospel, when her mom played it at home.
By the age of 18 she moved to London by herself studying Graphics where she then started to express herself in singing, rap and making beats with friends.
With all these influences Phasiyaa found herself
being always inspired by sound x art and classifies herself as an international Artist rather than a singer, to feel free on any sound, that compliments her soulful voice.
With her producer/friend SoVital she will be releasing her second project in December 2021 in English and German on dembow inspired beats and alternative tropical sound x a touch of glitter. 💫
