PHI UNO

PHI UNO was born in 2011 as a solo project by Luis Villalobos, a musician from Tonalá, Jalisco, Mexico. Exploring sound in a disruptive and hypnotic way, PHI UNO combines diverse instrumentation and resources, such as the use of loops, electronic and acoustic processes. Their music is a unique blend that can be simultaneously light and complex, rooted and soaring, nostalgic and uplifting, and deep and expansive.

In 2018, their first EP, Primigenio, was released. During the creation process, an ensemble with more live musicians were integrated with a diverse instrumentation that nourished the project. The ensemble evolved over time with various people who contributed to the project's growth.

Currently, PHI UNO returns to its initial form, as a single element, preserving the essence that has developed since the beginning. Their music continues to evolve within its core pillars of Contemplation, Introspection, Movement, and Depth. PHI UNO stills incorporating the influence of timeless shamanic sound and always explore new textures and stories that connect us.
