Bassist Phil Mulford has been a fixture on the UK Music Scene for over four decades and his latest writing and playing offering is an amazing Bass Centric Project, which includes some fantastic performances from many great musicians. The lead out single is titled 'For Dukey, Maurice and Marcus', a tribute to three incredible Musicians, Keyboards player George Duke, Bassist Marcus Miller and Earth Wind and Fire leader Maurice White. They all had a great and lasting influence on Phil's playing and writing. His deep love of melody and groove comes through on this track, which features Adrian Revell on Soprano Saxophone. This track is the first cut from the forthcoming album ‘From The Vaults’ Part 1.
Phil's credits include hundreds of sessions including T.V, Film and Album recordings and countless Concert appearances for British & International Artists. The impressive array of Pop Artists he has worked with include Lionel Richie, Chaka Khan, Lewis Taylor, The Bee Gees, Will Young, Annie Lennox, Paul Carrack and Tommy Blaize. Phil has gigged with International Musicians including Atlantic Records session drummer Bernard 'Pretty' Purdie the top U.S session guitarist Paul Jackson Jr and sax player Eric Marienthal.
Phil has released his own CD's with System X (1993), The Mulford MacFarlane Group (1996 & 1999) and the Boaters Project (2017) and fronts his 10 piece band 'Thunderthumbs', a celebration of classic songs played on by Louis Johnson from the Brothers Johnson.
