Filippo Prati (aka Philip Lawns) is an Italian music producer from Cesena. He is also the co-founder of Turbokitchen.
From 2014 onwards, Turbokitchen released on labels such as Motek and My Favorite Robot Recordings.
They also performed live at various events (Meet Compact Club, Peter Pan in Riccione…).
Philip Lawns music is rooted within the underground and represents a continuous clash of different influences.
His tracks are catchy and club-oriented. His compositions are dirty and pure, liberated and psychedelic, joyful and melancholic.
In 2021, Philip released his first remix for Great White Shark’s “Someone Else´s City”.
Gathering inspiration from his time spent in the nature surrounding him, such as the lakes and hills of Emilia-Romagna, and with his mind constantly refreshened, Philip Lawns puts together his ideas and melodies when he comes back to his studio.
Last year, Philip visited an art show on the theme of the Odyssey and his attention got caught by its protagonist Ulysses.
Stroked by Homer’s character he reflected on the last decade of his own life and the emotions he went through.
Out of his secret garden, a perfect acoustically isolated walk-in closet, was born “Ten Years of Travel”.
His debut EP is due in June 2022 via Thisbe Recordings.
New projects will soon be revealed.
