Philip is a project by the Portuguese pianist, arranger and composer Diogo Santos. Although Diogo has been studying classical music since childhood, he's always been passionate about listening and performing popular music. By making piano transcriptions of popular songs he's able to enhance some elements that aren't so obvious, or create more room for the main hooks to take on a new meaning. Diogo believes that the piano has the power to teleport us to another state. By transcribing pop songs from a classical approach it enables the listener to hear something familiar but with a whole other feeling. The piano is able to bring some kind of inexplicable comfort and calm. This project is a way for Diogo to be able to show people a world where classical and pop music are the same.
