Phoenix Elm

Formerly known as Juni Jupiter , Phoenix Elm started songwriting and uploading music on SoundCloud under the name CAVITY BOY in 2016, which has, since then, been changed.


Having learned guitar, keyboard, bass, drums, harp and theremin in a span of 13 years, the EP Heavy Metal Igour was crafted with only 5/6 instruments listed.


The EP had been in the works in early February 2020, leaving space for sounds to be altered during the 8 month time frame. A few songs were written during teenage years, while other songs were written as an adult. Some of the vocals were re-recorded a few times before being finalized.
Despite most of the songs being upbeat in tone, the lyrics were written about abusive relationships and continuing cycles with things that had caused pain, and some songs were written during those relationships.
Releasing this EP was a metaphorical release of pain and letting go, and there’s no better time to release an EP about pain than when the temperature drops and the only person you have under 3 different blankets is yourself
