Picho

Picho is a Chilean artist who released his first song “Wanna Die Dancing” in 2015 when he was 20 years old. During that time, he won a prize to direct a short film at his University so he decided to pause his music project and focus on his academic career until he was ready to come back. Nevertheless, he didn’t stop writing music.

In 2020 he published his 3-track single “Macho”, songs that were also produced in 2015 but kept secretly to himself. Throughout the social conflicts in Chile and the pandemic lockdowns, he decided to write songs in Spanish as his desire to connect deeply with his country and Latin America.

His debut album will be ready to launch soon in early 2024 and it will be full of new songs in his native language. “I wanted to produce the most pop album I could make at this moment, write with freedom, create with amazing producers and hope to pass this feeling to humanity, we have worked so much for this, it’s almost there!”.

“Focas Latinas” is one of these new songs, found as a closing track to the film “The Migrant Route of Aids” premiered in 2022. Since 2015, Picho has produced and directed independent films such as “Purple Bonds”, “Hilo Rojo”, “La Ruta Migrante del Sida” and “Homo sapiens antarcticus”, a story about global warming in Antarctica.
