Pihka Is My Name are a Berlin/Helsinki-based electronic duo who combine analogue synthesizers, hypnotic piano patterns and crunchy drum machines. Band members are composer-pianist Henna Helasvuo and producer-sound designer Lasse Turunen.
Pihka Is My Name self-released their debut album ‘Everything Is In Between’ to very positive reviews in March 2021. It was followed up ‘Dance Forbidden EP’, released via Taiwan-based Mettāsonic label in January 2022. The Sophomore album ‘Caller Unknown’ was released in September 22nd, 2023, and celebrated with a European Tour with US band Princess Goes.
The duo's live performances have impressed viewers with their frantic energy, visuals and dual vocals. While playing live, in addition to readymade material, the band like to improvise a lot, letting the music flow from one song to another.
