PIMMER is a Boston-based rock band established in 2024 by Sanford Schaffer. Last year's debut , "Halcyon 303" was an unexpected success garnering nearly 400K streams on Spotify and high praise from L.A. to London.
PIMMER returns this summer with their much anticipated follow-up LP, set for release July 25th on Mint400 Records. I Wish I Could Care is a stepped-up album which sees the band bending their sonic thrust to combine a kaleidoscopic range of influences: with everything from Husker Du aggression to melancholy Smiths-like pop harmonies--it all gets a whirl. This, in no small part, comes down to Schaffer’s voice - comparable to a young Paul Westerberg - his frank, gloomily humorous lyrics strike with palpable intelligence, relaying a detached sense of dissatisfaction and a hint of danger…’
The new album contains a mix of dark nostalgia, dystopia and rebellion as Altrecess Magazine recently noted, ‘...PIMMER’s new single, a nostalgic 2-minute rage entitled, “Things We Did For Fun,” taps into that exact feeling—and absolutely bottles it…
It’s indie, it’s alt-rock, it’s hard rock; it’s Blink-182 sneaking into a dream with 10cc, and for some reason, Sting’s ghost is there sipping lemonade. And it is a recipe for indie rock greatness…’
