Lauren Porter (of Two Thumbs Down) and Lily Monico (of Courage Mother) met at a local show in March of 2019 and became instant friends based on their mutual love of women and hatred of misogyny. Throughout time, they noticed the similar experiences they shared while being a girl in a male dominated punk scene. While writing songs heavily inspired by teen girl rage and general feminist frustration, they eventually recruited local eccentric Christian Ryder, (associate of Hotdog Water), to drum because they couldn’t figure out how to use a drum machine. One hellscape summer and a series of sweaty garages later, the three-piece eventually recorded their debut EP, Power Hour, in the fall of 2020.
