P.J.M. Bond earned his spurs with his band Dandelion, with whom he released two albums: "Everest" (2016) and "Laika, Belka, Strelka" (2019). In 2021 Bond released his debut solo EP titled "Sunset Blues,” which immediately received international attention. Americana UK called it "guitar and vocal folk perfection,” and country blog Holler called it "an understated masterpiece.”
Due in October 2023 is P.J.M. Bond's debut album “In Our Time,” inspired by Ernest Hemingway’s eponymous short story collection, published in 1925. For this project, Bond set out to write a song for each of the short stories contained in the volume, which include some of Hemingway’s most famous and lasting works of prose, such as “Indian Camp,” The Three-Day Blow” and “Big Two-Hearted River.” The album is a project of unprecedented vision and ideals, and is unique in its marriage between music and literature.
Through "In Our Time," P.J.M. Bond, holding an MA in English and American Literature, realised his dream of putting into song the short stories of his favorite American author. Bond locked himself in a wood cabin to write songs, lyrics and record demo's, which were subsequently finished in a studio. The result is an acoustic and intimate record, with fingerpicked acoustic guitars, upright piano's, lush cello arrangements, and inventive percussion - much inspired by American folk heroes Iron & Wine and James Taylor - which expand on the worlds and universes created by Ernest Hemingway.
