Plain Jane

PLAIN JANE is a belgian alternative country and folk band taking from their influences such as Fleetwood Mac, Phantom Limb, Chris Stappelton, John Mayer, Portishead, Sheryl Crow,… in order to create their own new atmosphere. They suggest a muffled, musical, intimate and american sound. The band is based on a real friendship and a shared love for folk.
PLAIN JANE is accentuated by the voice of Julie Compagnon, known for her success at the show « The Voice » in Belgium and her multiple appearances at national TV. The project is totally independent and has been recorded in the legendary Jet Studio in Brussels under control of Rudy Coclet (Simple Minds, Axelle Red, Arno,...). Formed of experienced and ambitious musicians, the band is evolving along with the biggest names in Europe. Classic 21 (biggest rock radio station in Belgium) is currently broadcasting the first single of PLAIN JANE « Don’t Swear ».
The band has been working for one year on a new album, redefining the belgian folk style and adding their own country, new wave, acoustic, indie pop and roots-rock style. After a tour in 2021 and 2022 full of a great audience, the band was selected in the program of the famous "South By Southwest festival" in Austin, Texas in March 2022. PLAIN JANE will therefore be performing.
Today, after more than a year of concerts, PLAIN JANE is working on new compositions and will enter the studio very soon. The album is planned for 2024.
