Umeå, Sweden
The music:
When a new song comes to life in the revolution garage, the foundation is rock solid beats, strong melodies, vocal harmonies and just tons of fun. The outcome is 3-4 minutes of energy and a passion for telling a story.
The members:
Thomas Jonsson - guitars and lead vocals.
Jonas Ericson - bass guitar and lead vocals.
Martin Gustafson Olausson - organ and backing vocals.
Christopher Lidberg - drums and backing vocals.
The story:
The band started out as a duo with Jonas and Thomas, both on guitars and vocals. Thomas came from an AOR/rock background as lead guitarist of Daisy Hayes, while Jonas had some harder influences as drummer and lead singer of The Satellite Circle. In this line-up they did heaps of gigs around the Umeå area, as well as two studio recordings. A few years later, Martin joined with his electric piano and glittery backing harmonies. He had previously toured the world with The Perishers and his contribution was gentle yet massive. More songs came to be, but something was missing live. The guys set out to go all electric: Thomas picked up his electric guitar and Jonas got himself a bass. Christopher completed the soundscape with his kick-ass drumming and broad-range backup singing. He is a guy who in addition to playing any of his 15 drum kits, also sings and plays the guitar in various outfits. The line-up for Plan a Revolution was complete.
The influences:
Tom Petty, Blue Öyster Cult, Kiss, The Ramones.
