Formed in 1999, Planet Funk have been a key force in the international electronic and dance music scene for 25 years, thanks to their distinctive collective nature and the success they've achieved over the years. The group was born from the merger of Souled Out!-GG Canu,Sergio Della Monica and Kamasutra-Marco Baroni,Alex Neri. With the 2002 release of Non Zero Sumness, the band achieved success,crowned by the Italian Music Awards and a gold record. The 2003 version, Non Zero Sumness Plus One, also features One Step Closer, a song written in collaboration with Jim Kerr, lead singer of Simple Minds.Planet Funk was the only Italian band invited by the BBC in London to perform live on Radio One from the famous Abbey Road Studios. In 2005, the album The Illogical Consequence was released, preceded by the single Stop Me.Their third album, Static, was released in 2006. In 2009, they released a compilation album titled Planet Funk, which included the single Lemonade.Planet Funk released the single The World's End, and in June of the same year, the previously unreleased Any Given Day. On December 27,they released the single Nights in White Satin.On June 6, 2025, a few days after the untimely passing of their beloved partner GG Canu, they released the single I Get a Rush,dedicated to him.The year closes with the announcement of the release of their new album, "BLOOOM," scheduled for January 16, 2026
