Formerly donning the name of Halcyon, multi-instrumentalist Zhong Ren had been writing and performing songs sporadically while juggling stints with a few rock and folk bands over the years. Work on his ambient rock debut Tear Down This Marketplace then began in 2014 under the name of Plate with the help of various talented individuals such as bassist and producer Ethan Seow. After the album was released in the summer of 2015, Plate’s live lineup underwent numerous revisions before settling on their current form - a 5-piece comprised of Zhong Ren on guitar and vocals, Zheng Ping on guitar, Sebastian on bass, Joel on keyboards, and Gabriel on drums. With new songs in the works as of 2019, expect to be served up a dynamic and emotional musical concoction at a live show near you.
