Pooja Viswesh

Born in India and raised across several states in the U.S., Pooja’s earliest introduction to music came through the rich tradition of Indian Classical Music. Over time, her musical world expanded; first through jazz, R&B, and Spanish music, and later, after arriving at the University of Virginia, through a deepening love for rock. Performing in her bands “behindthesun” and “The Works” and collaborating closely with fellow artists, producers, and teachers opened new creative pathways, broadening her sense of what her voice and storytelling could be.

She began officially producing this album in her junior year, working alongside trusted friends and guided by professors whose insight reshaped her understanding of recording, production, and composition. In exploring how people from different cultures encounter introspection and meditation, Pooja crafted a body of work that moves through fear, doubt, love, pride, and gratitude across a spectrum of genres.

The album represents the culmination of countless hours spent in the studio writing, experimenting, building, and ultimately distilling dozens of ideas into ten songs. It stands as both a testament to her growth and a reflection of the community that helped shape her journey.
