Pool Boys are a family band from Boston, MA. Singer, Jasper Coté, and bassist, Lorenzo Rossi, met in Seattle in 2006 when they became step-siblings. The two brothers both attended Emerson College in Boston (alongside their cousin and drummer, Nick Arcari) where they met guitarist, Scott Hermenau and keyboardist, Will Petrillo. The band soon became heavily involved in the college’s internet radio station, WECB, where they began promoting local acts through benefit shows for organizations such as Planned Parenthood, ACLU, and Feeding America.
Pool Boys' music is ecstatic and tragic, dealing with love, loss, and failure through euphoric melodrama. The pool is a place of ephemeral joy and that chlorine stench – this contrast is reflected in the emotional dissonance between the lyrics and arrangement of My Other Car Is A Pool.
