Pop Top

First off, I want to introduce myself I go by the name Pop Top which originally came from Pop Da Top or PDT for short. My real name is Calvin Lige, I have a son who is named after me and he’s a awesome kid. I was born in Canton, Ohio but I have lived in Akron, Oh. Atlanta, GA. Jamaica the island, New York for a couple months just to name a few. I have traveled a bunch to be honest. I first got into writing music when I was just a kid at the age of 12 when I lived in Atlanta, Georgia. I was around a lot of musicians and this older guy my mother knew who went by the name of Sean use to freestyle to me all the time and advise that I should try it. He told me even if I mess up I should keep going and from that day on I knew I wanted to do music. Wasn’t until my mother went and did federal prison time is when I started writing everyday but I had no one to help me with studio time or no one around that really believed that you could make it from Canton Ohio doing music. I really gained confidence in myself and knew I had the ability to make good music when I first got in the studio that wasn’t until I was about 19yrs old I knew then this is what I’m going to strive for no matter who didn’t like what I was doing. I know if I keep at it I will build a fan base and people could relate to my story and where I come from.
