PorkFat is my world. I'm Dan M. I write, compose and produce every track. These songs are about my life and the people in it. My family, my mates, people I meet. I'm autistic. Saying my feelings can be hard. Writing them as songs and playing them at people, that's the whole project. I make dark theatrical garage rock. I live in Sydney, Australia but I wasn't born here. My band members are amazing international artists, friends and session musicians who would rather you heard them than saw them. For now. I like designing engines (not the ones that go into cars), camping on the beach, listening to other people tell me about their stories, and the kind of people with flaws that show. I write lyrics therapeutically, hooks and top lines mathematically, and melodies on a busted old guitar, a worn piano with dust on the side keys, a cello thats been thrown down a flight of stairs, a banjo with water damage, a flute thats bent in the middle from being stepped on, a thrift store ukulele and dented brass. The drums need duct tape holding them together, when you kick them, they occasionally fall apart. My day job is complicated. I have a family who are the best. And two more. I read a lot. I don't sleep much. I'm smart sometimes, I'm dumb often. I know love, I know hate. I write lyrics better than I can sing, I compose better than I can perform, I listen to rock music in company, I listen to pop music when I'm alone. I try to tell the truth.
