Porpoise Parade is the solo moniker of Seattle-based musician and Hi Crime songwriter, Mitch Etter (That's me!) Hi... The first Porpoise Parade recordings all started as demos that I never intended to release. I made them quickly in my bedroom, just trying to get the ideas out of my head, and into a tangible form. Listening back to the recordings, I really connected to the raw, minimal arrangements. I felt like I risked destroying the pure emotions in some of these songs if I worked on full arrangements with my band. The songs felt complete in their emptiness in their simple form. So I released my half-finished demos, and got really nice feedback about them.
After playing my first solo shows in 2019 with these kind of songs. I've felt some inspiration to put more intention behind these solo recordings. I'll still be releasing more of those lo-fi demo recordings, but I also plan to record and release more polished solo recordings. Hopefully this project can be an outlet to experiment, and make lots of different kinds of music. Hope you'll stay tuned and enjoy what comes.
