As a video game creator (Mass Effect 2/3, New World, Amazon Alexa), Patrick Wayne already knew how our always online connected world of social media comparison and shame led to constant existential crises, and the resulting addictions and self-destructive behaviors when he wrote “Normal”.
This dark pop track laments and gives language to the existential crisis of wanting to be anything but normal in the world of online self-promotion and projection, and the self-destructive behaviors we engage in to bury our mortality. It's the feature track on a four-song EP "Human by Algorithm" which explores the themes of a connected online and projected world, and the impact it has on our relationships.
2021 has been a banner creative year for Patrick Wayne. Possible Impossible’s first two singles “Oxygen” and “Subtle” exceeded over 1.1M views and streams on DSPs, social media, and YouTube, landed on Spotify’s Release Radar, and were covered by over a dozen international press outlets. Wayne’s remastered work on Mass Effect hit #1 worldwide on console and PC charts with the release of Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, and his work on Amazon’s New World also hit #1 worldwide on PC.
