The solo project of Bristol based musician Chris Barrett, Post Yoga first came about after he picked up an old keyboard in a charity shop for £4. Previous to that Chris had mainly written and performed with a guitar, including on his last project Something Anorak, that ended in 2018 after the duo were wanting to concentrate on new projects.
“Post Yoga became a new challenge, I felt like a novice, messing about with a new toy and seeing where I could take it. From the outset I knew I wanted to create pop songs and to only use the Yamaha PSS-170 to create them, it allowed the project to develop its own aesthetic.“
Having self released two albums under the name, Chris has spent much of the last couple of years honing his sound, working out what the project could be while still working within certain creative limitations.
