Potomelli is the solo project of Tokyo-born musician Hironori Momoi, blending indie pop with a deep-rooted background in jazz. After spending six years in New York City as a professional jazz drummer, Momoi returned to his hometown of Tokyo, where he began shifting focus toward songwriting and production. While composing for fellow musicians and clients, the idea of creating a personal project started to take shape—leading to the birth of Potomelli.
Under the name Potomelli, Momoi writes, composes, and performs all his own music, stepping out from behind the drum kit to become a vocalist and front-facing artist. The project allows him to explore a more melodic, expressive side—one that draws from a wide range of influences but remains grounded in emotion and storytelling.
Since its start, Potomelli has resonated with listeners both in Japan and abroad, finding a growing audience especially in Southeast Asia, including Taiwan, Indonesia, the Philippines, and India.
