Prayan

The artistic "journey" of Prayan (alias Mariangela Bettanini) starts in Genoa, Italy, her native city, by exploring a variety of vocal techniques and musical environments over the years: from the songs of Bob Dylan and Joan Baez to New York City's jazz; from the classic singing of Rueil-Malmaison to a vast international repertoire as a singer in the French Riviera; from Overtone Chanting to Voicing ©, a spiritual and vocal journey which facilitates the expression of our emotions and makes contact with our most intimate reality.
A journey that, in recent years, would lead her to another spiritual and artistic transition by devoting herself to mystic music. From this, she published the CD "The Fragrance," the CD tribute to Christian Sacred Music "O Magnum Mysterium." Finally, “The Invitation," a suite of ten songs inspired by the poems of Rumi, the Sufi Poet of Love, here interpreted for the first time in English by a female, Western gaze. "The Invitation" highlights the universality of the message of love sent by Mevlana Jalal ad-Din Rumi, the Sufi Mystic Poet of Love. Rumi's poetry represents an interfaith meeting point, a guide beyond diversity, and an invitation to enter the dimension of the spiritual heart, the Sufi Way.
