Prehistoric Whales is a band with influences from stoner, doom and progressive metal, founded may 2015 in Jerez de la Frontera, in the spanish province of Cádiz. Highly distorted guitars, heavy rhythm sections as well as both melodic and harsh vocals are the best defining characteristics for Prehistoric Whales. Their first work, self-titled “Prehistoric Whales”, released on october 2016, has purely stoner rock style songs. This EP was recorded, mixed and mastered by Daniel Rodríguez at Red Moose studio, Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz, Spain). During summer in 2017, the band’s second project, the EP named “Dissolution”, was recorded and produced. In this work, the band’s style drifts slightly towards a darker and heavier stream, yet still under the influence of stoner and doom metal. “Dissolution” was recorded, mixed and mastered by Rafael Camisón at “Estudio Setentaynueve”, Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz, Spain). Currently, the formation is working on the writing of their next album and producing new audiovisual content.
