Propheta is a Dominican reggaeton and hip-hop artist, as well as the creator of reggaecrunk, a fusion of Crunk Music now classified as Trap and Drill. Hailing from NYC, Propheta holds the distinction of being the first Latin artist to record Brazilian funk. He is also recognized as one of the pioneers and founders of the Dominican supergroup Tigueraje 809.
Propheta rose to fame in the streets through his successful sales of mixtapes and electrifying performances in nightclubs across the five boroughs. His talent caught the attention of Universal Music's sub-label Revolu, leading to a distribution and label deal. Under this partnership, Propheta served as an executive producer and music producer for notable releases such as "Reggaeton en la Calle 8," "Reggaeton con el Propheta 1.2: La Estrategia del Reggaeton," "Extreme Reggaeton," "Kings of New York," and several other compilations.
In addition to his collaborative work, Propheta was prominently featured in the 2005 Universal Music super-hit compilation "Ano de Exitos" with his track titled "Envidioso." This song showcased his distinctive beat and style, which is now known as Dembow Dominicano. Propheta, now known as Prophex, has consistently stayed ahead of the game, showcasing his versatility and mastery across various genres that he decides to interpret.
