Welcome to the mostly sunny world of Pure Milk, where the air is hot, hazy, and the mundane minutiae has never seemed so important. Keeping in the spirit of DIY, lo-fi Australiana jangle, the Gold Coast 5-piece have created a charmingly chaotic sound with dissonant guitar lines and a sharp, dry wit.
Their most recent EP Garden Anxiety saw the band break new ground, lyrically and sonically exploring themes of self-identity, anxiety, teenage unease, and the simplistic importance of day-to-day routine. It also saw the band receive local acclaim with singles Conversations, Sunny Side Up and Pressure receiving Double J rotation, and numerous plays and attention from Triple J heavyweights, including Richard Kingsmill and Zan Rowe. 2021 saw the band break new heights including festival slots at The Mountain Goat Valley Crawl and Crafted Festival and supporting acts such as Press Club and Peach Fur. In the latter half of the year Pure Milk headed back into the studio, ahead of an anticipated 2022 release.
