At an early age, Purhnel set off on a journey to the South, searching for a vision, that at one point only existed within his imagination. The now author, artist, and entrepreneur is taking the country by storm as he shares the journey of his experiences. Currently residing in San Diego, California, raised in Chester, Virginia, and spending a majority of his years in cities throughout Florida; he has a distinct sound that can’t quite be categorized.
Listeners have described him as having a vocal texture that reminds them of Styles P, and a content catalog that matches the likes of Talib Kweli, peppered with traces of a Common and Phonte feel. Although his influences range from jDilla to Miles Davis to Stevie Wonder, if you were to ask him; he would most likely say that the goal is to be undefinable. Until recently, it has been difficult to find his music online, but with an EP and a debut album to look forward to, Purhnel and his team of producers and engineers are diligently working in the studio to bring the chronicles from his journey to life.
