Purple Sky & Yellow Tide

Purple Sky & Yellow Tide is a virtual band from Houston, TX. The eclectic and electric musical duo, Leo Morales (not DiCaprio) and Leo Slider (also not DiCaprio) enjoy collaborating on inventive, nostalgic arrangements that speak to music lovers and erratics from all paths of life.

Their debut album, Crybaby Blue (2023), looks to well-loved tunes of the 70s as a beacon of inspiration. Moody vocal harmonies reminiscent of the Beach Boys meet lively piano motifs evocative of Harry Nilsson, generating a warm and emotive atmosphere that transports you back to eras past. Live and digital instruments are artfully blended into a dynamic, surreal soundscape accentuated by heartfelt string arrangements and catchy bass lines.

The pair continue their melodic conversion with Wild Wind Blows (2025), their sophomore album, elaborating on the conversation with older styles of music. Exploring and pushing the limits of sound, they strive to find new sonic expressions for nostalgia, anger, sadness, and joy.
