Purpletape is an experimental recording project that fuses the familiar rage and melancholy of lo-fi alt-rock and folk music with challenging sonics, rooted in electroacoustic production technique. Producer/Songwriter, Nova Lee takes concepts from an 'acousmatic' approach to engineering and forces them back inside conventional harmony to create music that almagamates the subtle with the obnoxious.
Whilst recording a demo EP in 2019, Nova met experimental pop artist, <a href="spotify:artist:03msIMTl6tWgjd5vIQkP2d" data-name="Christian Le Surf">Christian Le Surf</a> - a collaboration that would later give birth to the title track of Purpletape's debut EP: <a href="spotify:album:7ztSZGqYq9406GIlnw30dY" data-name="Doves Doves Doves">Doves Doves Doves</a>.
Since then, the project has periodically released rough, low-fidelity folk tracks whilst work continues on a debut album, planned for release in 2025
