Southern California natives Matt Hemphill (Guitar & Vocals), Ben Harris (Bass & Vocals) and Sean Murphy (Drums) started Push Start Nova in 2006 as a party band for a church event. They quickly wrote smash hits Left & Right and My Baby and played them at every live show. Live shows ranged from incredible to brilliant and could be seen from the now permanently closed Hoagie Barmichaels to the also now permanently closed House of Blues in Downtown Disney. During these live shows antics ranged from audience members pantsing themselves to intense finger fights in the mosh pit.

In 2010 their first album Push Start Nova was recorded completely mixed and mastered by Ryan (The Low B) Roehl. The album featured the heavily favored track Huck Finn which was a crowd favorite. This album also has the breakout performance from the Bro Squad Choir on tracks like Love Sucks.

In 2013 they recorded their second album St. Murphy and it was critically beloved. Steven Galbraith was the mix master on the album and the modern update remixes was done by bass player Ben Harris with their biggest hit I Can't Wait (Remix) as well as I've Said Too Much (Remix) getting the faster BPM treatment and One Good Shake (Remix) getting the full Nova Remix.

The band ended in 2016 never to be heard from again.... or will they be?

No, they all have full time jobs now.
