In 1999, three young friends - Big Qweezy, Sho & L.U.V. - started a rap group named Black Reign at TMH Studios in Virginia Beach. Our trio then formed QSL Entertainment as a production company with aspirations to one day create a label. Our first release in 2000 was Black Reign’s debut CD, DOWNPOUR, which spawned BR’s first radio single “Dope Hits”. We gained popularity performing up and down the east coast from NYC to FL, and frequently at home in the Hampton Roads/Tidewater area of VA. Over time, Qweezy and Sho moved out of the state, but we’ve continued to create as a group, as individuals, and with several other artists, even spawning additional side groups and projects. All to the benefit of the growth of our catalog. With today’s technology and connectivity, we’ve found ways to create that we only imagined when we first started doing this together. Once we decided to move forward with becoming the label and releasing music in 2021, we added “QSL” to the end of the group’s name to draw distinction from other artists.
