German trio Qualm was founded in 2018 by flatmates Niklas (guitar), Yannick (drums) and Henrik (bass). Inspired by the intensity of slowed-down Chipmunks songs, they set out to create a slow, heavy, weird, and entrancing sound. Taking a step away from boomer doom, Qualm's first album "Eden neben jedwedem Elend" blends the aesthetics of doom metal, the internet and vomiting in a public garbage bin after a drunk, depressing night-out.
