Queendom is a musical duo based in Oslo, Norway. They call themselves 'Afropean' and their genre 'Africana', because the sound of Queendom is a musical blend of African, European and American styles.
Queendom was originallly established as a performing arts collective in 1999. Teo decades later, Queens Asta Busingye and Monica Ifejilika have etablished Queendom as a purely musical endeavor, collaborating with South African guitarist Louis Mhlanga, to master percussionist Sidiki Camara and Zap Mama bass player Maou Gallo.
Lyrically and politically, the Norwegian/Ugandan/Nigerian duo are uncompromising as they reshape and restructure their message - from young rebel queens to grown women, mothers and queens.
