Quinton Barnes is a relentlessly ambitious Montreal-based artist exploring the edges of Canada's music scene. Since 2018, he's built a unique sound, writing, rapping, singing, producing, mixing, and mastering his own work across a prolific discography, pushing the boundaries of hip-hop, R&B, hyperpop, footwork and experimental music. His 2020 album AARUPA earned Bandcamp's "Best of Winter" nod, and 2022's For the Love of Drugs garnered an 8/10 from Exclaim. His Polaris Long-Listed album CODE NOIR prompted The Quietus to note his adroit incorporation of "pre-millennium-era electronic dance music, R&B, and candy-coated pop," adding, "There is nothing he has attempted to date that he cannot do.” Funded by a Canada Council for the Arts grant, Barnes's collaborative album BLACK NOISE is out now
