Wedding officiant… With an expansive discography begun on wax in 2001 and a performance career touching 5 continents, there are countless spaces and places in which you may have encountered Rabbi Darkside (né Samuel Sellers), from international stages to worldwide guest appearances on records, features on MTV to headlining the Blue Note Jazz Festival, the New York Times Education section to HipHopDX and Okayplayer. And they continue to grow with his dedication to artistic evolution, human rights advocacy, freedom fighting, Hip Hop Education, independent business operation and a deepening catalog. Most recently he released the LP "Radio Activity" as The Hues Brothers (a collab with UK producer/DJ Mr. Simmonds) on Say Word Ent. distributed by Fat Beats (2018); was tapped as the official DJ for Saturday Night Live Season 43 & 44 afterparties; marked his 4th year as resident DJ/MC at renowned jam session The Lesson; and entered his 5th year teaching seminars of his own design at The New School. Fresh back from Europe tour in September 2019, he is releasing a new self-produced project on 12/13/19, readying new labelmate releases on Say Word for the winter as well as new ventures for the Hip Hop Re:Education Project, of which he is the co-founder.
