A quartet of American indie rock veterans, Racquet Club was formed in Los Angeles by singer/guitarist Blair Shehan (<a href="spotify:artist:7kcgO0DTza7One0HqXRIH7">Knapsack</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1ggwkSYO7sCaM9sBV4ldYf">the Jealous Sound</a>), Sergie Loobkoff (<a href="spotify:artist:7eNSfWxOEWP2B2QQgHGBoo">Samiam</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7kcgO0DTza7One0HqXRIH7">Knapsack</a>), drummer Bob Penn (<a href="spotify:artist:1ggwkSYO7sCaM9sBV4ldYf">the Jealous Sound</a>), and bassist Ian Smith. The group officially announced their existence in early 2017, having already recorded their debut album with producer Alex Newport (<a href="spotify:artist:3MM8mtgFzaEJsqbjZBSsHJ">Bloc Party</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:27M9shmwhIjRo7WntpT9Rp">Frank Turner</a>) and signed with <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Rise+Records%22">Rise Records</a>. Musically, their edgy, introspective rock takes a similar approach as that of their previous bands. Making their live debut in May 2017, <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Rise%22">Rise</a> issued Racquet Club's self-titled LP in September of that year. ~ Timothy Monger, Rovi
