Radiation Risks formed in Buffalo, NY in early 2016 out of the ashes of punk and hardcore bands like Brown Sugar, I Object!, Johns, and many others. The main objective, early on, was to incorporate more textures and tones into an otherwise definitively hardcore sound.
Active for only a few years, the band played over 200 shows, including tours of South America and Canada, and earned a reputation as a reckless and wild live band. Their releases include a More Power Tapes demo cassette (S/T), a Lumpy Records 7” (Goodbye Money), a Feral Kid Records Flexi (Headless Horseman), a self-released LP (Strawberry Quick), and a Swimming Faith Records 7” (Welcome to Bad Boy City). These records seldom take the foot off the gas, blending clean guitar hardcore with proto-punk, and garage-psych grooves.
