The Radiodervish with their music have defined the poetics of the encounter between East and West more than any other, seeing Italy as a bridge between European and Mediterranean countries. The band was born in Puglia (Italy) in 1997 by the artistic partnership between Nabil Salameh, of Palestinian origin, and Michele Lobaccaro, and they sing about men and women belonging to different spaces, cultures and times, looking for openings and passages through East and West. From their union an original songwriting arose, that the Radiodervish like to call "Mediterranean songwriting", which finds its references in the various both refined and popular Mediterranean traditions, characterized by the mix of different musical worlds and by learned texts declined in different languages (Italian, Arabic, English, French, Spanish).
In over 25 years, always working in close collaboration with the talented musician Alessandro Pipino, the Radiodervish have released 13 albums and have worked together with many musicians and artists such as Franco Battiato, Giovanni Lindo Ferretti, Arab Orchestra of Nazareth, Jovanotti, Stewart Copeland, Noa, Nicola Piovani, Giuseppe Battiston, Carlo Lucarelli, Teresa Ludovico, Valter Malosti.
The Radiodervish have been guests of the most important Italian and international stages: the Blue Note-Milan, Dingwalls-London,Théatre de l'Olympia-Paris, Cairo, Tunisia ,Amman, Athens, Beirut, Bethlehem, Brussels, Jerusalem, Quito, Rome, Valencia, Dubai, Algeri, Kuwait.
