A little girl scribbling
with a head full of dreams
is how it all started
but I couldn’t sing
My writing would save me
over and over again
releasing my madness
my heart held the pen
Spent a year on the ground
alone in the dark
til the animals came
and relit my spark
I started a Tik Tok called
Grow Up to Be Kind
and when it took off
I made up my mind
I’ve got a new plan
here it is, mark my words
mental health is priority
and here’s how it works
I’ll start from the beginning
I’ll target the young
Teach them kindness is strength
not bullets in a gun
It needs to start in our schools
a mandatory class
Teach self love and worth
we must learn from our past
Manifestos from killers
should never exist
We failed those children
their cries were just missed
We need to take notice
of the ones still unsure
and offer them guidance
as they grow & mature
More time spent in nature
with all living beings
Encourage compassion
and all that it brings
The animals taught me
what I was lacking at home
Unconditional love
when I felt all alone
Grow up to be kind
Is my brand and dot com
I’ve started my website
and I’m still writing songs
My mission is clear
and I truly believe
Mental health in our curriculum
will only achieve
More children’s laughter
more elders matter
Less guns a blaring
more people caring
a bright tomorrow
with no more sorrow
where love is plenty
and dreams come true
I’m just one voice
but yours makes two! ❤️
