Drawing inspiration from the traditional art of darning called rafoogari, Rafoo is a multi-genre indie project by Delhi based singer-songwriter and producer, Tarang. She uses a kaleidoscopic blend of vocal textures, disarming melodies and locally sourced samples to create music which attempts to have a dialogue with listeners.
Rafoo uses her experience as a researcher and interest in socio-ecological sustainability to add another dimension to her creations. She firmly believes in the magic of music as well as art's added advantage of being more accessible and reformative than research papers. And she says, she means this last bit without any intention to throw shade at her development sector brethren.
