Hailing from the remote Westfjords of Iceland, Ragnar Zolberg has been writing and releasing heavy music for over 20 years. His first full project (aged 13) was with his hard rock band Sign. They received Icelandic Music Award nominations and a gold disc in the UK, and shared stages with his heroes KISS and Skid Row. More recently, he’s played and written around the world as a key songwriter-guitarist with Swedish prog-metallers Pain of Salvation. Ragnar has also worked with the likes of Ken Thomas (Sigur Rós), Mark Plati (David Bowie), and Earl Slick (John Lennon) and he’s written solo albums all along the way.
The 2024 album Heavy Heart sees Ragnar going back to the roots as he delivers a solid hard rock album influenced by his love of 80’s and early 90’s hard rock music, this time handling all duties himself, from performing to mixing and mastering.
