Raid 409 Zurich's DIY punk insurgents, forging a path since their 2015 genesis. Comprised of Mike “The Bench” Widmer (guitar/vocals), Iso “The Wall” Merkli (guitar/vocals), Dave “The Bass” Recio (bass/vocals) and Michael “The White Thunder” Weiss (drums/vocals), they burst onto the scene with their 2017 self-titled 6-track EP, followed by the frenetic Punket in 2019, featuring ragers like My Hand and Gravity Girl.
Their sound Dynamic Punk Rock is a lightning bolt: unpredictable tempo shifts fused with punk, reggae, metal, and rock influences. Rooted in punk’s rebellious spirit, Raid 409’s mission is to shatter complacency, taking aim at ignorance, racism, and corruption while celebrating love, equality, progress, freedom, and liberalism.
As a self-made force, they've taken Switzerland by storm winning a band contest to play at Zürifäscht, tearing up stages at Alte Kaserne, Dynamo Zurich, the Blaues Pferd Festival, Sedel Luzern and even filming a gritty music video for Telephone in London. In 2025, Raid 409 proudly celebrated their 10-year anniversary, marking a decade of uncompromising energy and unity with their fans.
Their 2024 debut full-length album Blank exploded with 200 k streams in its first week. With radio airplay across SRF 3, Radio Zürisee, and Radio FM1 and placements on Spotify playlists like Skatepark Punks and All New Punk. Raid 409 is one unstoppable force.
