With members hailing from Canada, Australia, Brazil, and USA, Rainbow Road lives up to its name. What started as an experimental solo pop project fanned out into a full-fledged band, with no specific reference points, yet tied together by some variegated adhesive - maybe something in the Pacific Ocean air, or maybe just a shared belief that these songs deserve to be heard.
With one EP long in the rearview, all attention turns to Rainbow Road's debut full-length album, WANT. Released in March 2020, WANT explores the very human feeling of longing, sometimes with a desperate urgency, but more often with the rush of energy that comes with being in close pursuit of something that matters. Recorded in home studios in LA and Vancouver, as well as with Jesse Gander at Raincity Recorders, WANT is the product of two years of tumultuous border crossings, and the conviction that it's worth it.
